The Farm (1/2)

The vineyards cover almost 10 ha, 6 ha newly planted and 4 ha of very old vines which will need replanting in the near future. The first parcel is located in Penajóia, Lamego municipality and the other two in Alvações do Corgo (municipality of Santa Marta Penaguião). The wines, produced from these two parcels are being bottled since 2010, are produced mainly from grapes from the old vines. The former (Penajóia) starts the production with the 2013 vintage. The beginning of the production saw many problems and surprises, but the wines ended up seeing the light of the day. They were made with the aim of expressing as closely as possible the expression character of the different parcels. All our work, from the vineyard to the cellar, was aimed at making wines that are the true expression of the grapes grown in those vineyards, where we seek to achieve the best from the vine, the soil and the environment generally.

The Farm (2/2)

“Mine is not a big vineyard and I am still looking for the best and most reliable expression of the terroir. I am seeking to improve the production, especially in quality. The first “fruits” are Douro- DOC wines (red, white and rosé), produced with commitment by of all those who have taken responsibility for their production, starting with the work in the vineyard, the meticulous hand- harvesting, the wine making process, the aging and, finally, the wines’ presentation in the bottle. They are available to the consumer, who is the central personage in this adventure. Everything is done with the consumer in mind; our watchword is: "make an enjoyable wine which shows good value for money”. The vineyards are cultivated by hand using traditional techniques and the minimum possible quantities of chemical products (three treatments all over the year), with very low yields."
