Alteia red wines
Douro DOC (PDO)

The reds are medium to full colored, with some transparency. They are vinous with light aromas of red fruits and grape

The 2010 and 2011 were produced from grapes of old vines (100 located in the "Douro-Cima Corgo", with shale soils, in steep west-facing slopes, cool mornings and very hot afternoons (wide temperature range) and very dry weather. They are mineral, full of sun, showing authenticity and a strong character.

The predominant varieties are Touriga Franca (~45%), together with Tinta da Bairrada (~15%), Malvasia Preta (~15%) and other local varieties like Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and some others (~25%).

Alcohol: 14,5 (label).
Colour: Medium to full red, with some transparency.
Nose: Vinous with light aromas of red fruitd and grape.
Taste: Good, well-balanced, mineral, some structure, pleasant and quite lenght.

Alteia rosé wines
Douro DOC (PDO)

The Alteia rosés are bright, with hints of gooseberry, full-flavored of light red fruits and currant and they very refreshing.

They are produced with grapes from a newly planted vine in “Baixo Corgo”, South bank of the river Douro, facing Norwest and West, mainly from the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca.

Alcohol: 12% (label).
Colour: Bright rose.
Nose: Light red fruits, currant.
Taste: Balanced light acidity, fresh, a little length and very pleasant.

Alteia white wines
Douro DOC (PDO)

The Alteia whites are very clear, floral, subtle and balanced. They are fresh and aromatic wines, expressing authenticity. They are ready to drink.

Produced since 2010 these wines are made from traditional grapes of the Douro wine region, cultivated in the steep slopes of the river Corgo and from a newly planted vine in South bank of the river Douro. They are cultivated very carefully with small yields. The newly planted plot produces mainly Rabigato and Viosinho and the two plots with very old vines mainly Malvasia Rei and Malvasia Fina.

In 2013 a single variety wine from Gouveio (the local name of Verdelho) was also produced.

Alcohol: 12,5% (label).
Colour: Bright citrus green.
Nose: Lime and tropical fruits, not very intense.
Taste: Balanced light acidity, fresh, a little length and very pleasant.
